Driveways (Paved & Loose)- 7 Jul 2026
Cleaning and resending of block paving driveway. I found Kailum on here, he attended my house initially to measure my driveway and quote for the job. On his first visit he put down stain remover/ weed killer. On his second visit he cleaned the paving and on the third visit he sanded the paving. He worked non stop while he was at the house. There was great communication throughout the process. I found Kailum to be a genuine trustworthy person who gave me honest advice about my drive, not over quoting or adding on extras. I would recommend Kailum and will definitely use again for any other jobs that arise.

Extensions- 4 Jul 2022
Never finished job, took on too many builds elsewhere, put tiles roof on, leaked soo bad for two weeks, filled SIX 200 litre barrels, all insulating was wet and fell out. Roof had to be stripped and get a roofer in (Munton), Bricklayer didnt turn up for four weeks, and Paul didnt notice, called me to see if he had been in. Brickwork shocking (see website photo), Building inspector not called in latter half of build, no final inspection or sign off. Asked Paul for invoices, he cant supply me any invoices because he didnt keep records, Asked me what amount I would like putting down on an invoice. I had to pull down scaffolding on my own, in the middle of the night / dark and pouring rain, after being told it would be removed but no, Still up two weeks after being needed and it needed to be down as bifold doors were being fitted next morning, Paul wasnt interested. Build took about year and half to complete because he wasnt managing it and doing other projects. http://www.paul-smith-builders.co.uk/

Extensions- 1 Mar 2017
From day 1 Peter has been a true professional. He was always there when he said he would to give the estimate & the quote. His quote broke down to every single item, no matter how small! this allowed me to plan & manage my finances. That was 1 of the reasons for choosing him. Throughout the job Peter was flexible & when things developed & needed to be changed, he came up with solutions before asking me. Peter & the lads (Ashley & Martin) were reliable & sometimes worked long days/Saturdays, which allowed the job to be finished a week early. The quality of the work is spot on, including mixing in the reclaim bricks & reusing bricks (to keep down costs). 4 steels needed to be put in for this job & Pete's measurements were spot on to the mm (so i've been told), plus the house never fell down while he was doing it!!! The extension has been finished & its just what we wanted. As of yet there have been no after care issues, & to be honest i'm not expecting any, so i can't give feedback on that. Would i recommend him -Definitely. The reasons- always on time, clear quote, good building skills, adaptable, came up with answers when needed, nothing to much trouble. He did what i asked for to a very good & professional standard, what better feedback could i give.

What to ask a Olney extension builder before hiring?

Before hiring an extension builder in Olney or extension building company in Olney, ask a few key questions to make sure you’re choosing the right professional for your home extension project.

What qualifications and experience do you have as an extension builder in Olney?

An extension builder in Olney should have a strong track record with similar projects and relevant building qualifications or trade memberships, such as the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) or TrustMark.

Will my home extension meet all building regulations and planning requirements?

Your Olney extension builder should ensure the project complies with Building Regulations and, where necessary, handle or assist with planning permissions. Ask how they manage building control inspections and what documentation you’ll receive once the project is complete.

What experience do you have with similar extensions in Olney?

Ask to see examples of their previous work, or view examples of their work on MyBuilder. Ideally projects similar to yours in scale and design. This helps you assess the Olney extension builder’s ability to deliver a result that meets your expectations.

How long will the extension take to complete?

Extension project timelines can vary depending on size, complexity, and weather. A typical single-storey extension might take around 8 - 12 weeks. Request a detailed schedule so you know what to expect and when key milestones will be reached.

Do you offer a guarantee for your work? Most Olney extension builders offer a guarantee or warranty on their work, often between 1 and 10 years depending on the project and materials used. This gives you assurance that any issues will be resolved after completion.

If you still have questions about the professional you are looking to hire, we have a full detailed guide on hiring the right builder here.
