When he did get it sorted, he came at the exact time agreed and fitted the door exactly how I wanted it. For me trades who turn up, are reliable and do what they say they'll do are like gold dust. His was the highest quote I got, but I chose him because he really knows his stuff about firedoors so I could be sure the result would pass muster and because he could do the job soon. He asked for the cost of all the materials in advance as well as half the labour; this felt unusual but he did deliver. He charged extra for the plastering job that would have been included in a quote from the other good joiner who quoted.
