Bartlett | Mettham are dedicated to the creative re-invention of existing buildings. Using thoughtful, context driven design to revitalise inadequate and underutilised spaces; whether through refurbishment, extension, change of use, or delicate restoration. Architecture is no longer confined to demolition or preservation. Creative reinvention of existing buildings begins with a careful assessment of what already stands, followed by sensitively selecting the tangible and intangible qualities to retain. This approach can lower construction costs, shorten delivery, and reduce the environmental impact. Leading to a thoughtful and conscious outcome that is historically grounded and worthy of its time and place. Whilst resisting the unimaginative and repetitive tendencies of much contemporary architecture.

I provide architectural and design support for homeowners looking to improve, extend or adapt their properties. My background is in architecture, technical drawing, residential design and planning-stage documentation, with strong experience using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe software. I can help with measured drawings, existing and proposed plans, layout options, design ideas, presentation drawings and 3D visuals for domestic projects such as extensions, refurbishments, internal reconfigurations and early planning proposals. My approach is clear, practical and detail-focused. I aim to help clients understand what is possible, communicate ideas properly, and produce drawings that are organised, accurate and easy to read. I also have a strong interest in sustainability, adaptive reuse and making better use of existing buildings. I am not a registered architect, but I am a BA (Hons) Architecture graduate and Part 1-level architectural assistant, so I can support with design and drawing work where suitable.
