Get in touchWe engaged Dan for groundwork and brickwork for our Victorian house due to damp issues arising. There was also damaged and leaky drainage both at the front and back. He reacted promptly to our requests and proposed an elegant solution to fix the drainage issues. So we engaged Dan to lower ground levels, fix our drainage issues and clean and re-point affected brickwork. During this job, Dan demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and attention to detail. He was always punctual, respectful of the property and maintained a clean and organized worksite, tidying up after the job. His expertise in working with period properties was evident from his use of lime mortar and he took the time to ensure we were happy with the job during the entire time of the project. Communication was excellent, keeping us informed at every stage and discussing solutions for the drainage and brick issues at the start of each working day. Get in touchWe hired Joe for groundworks, block paving, patio tiling and some steps. We agreed a payment schedule for the job which would take about 4 weeks and cost around £9000. Things began well but when the work fell behind the weekly payments I informed Joe I would wait until the work had caught up before I made the next payment - we had paid about 2/3 of the money while only about 1/2 of the work had been done. Joe began sending long messages and angry phone calls demanding payment. We had also agreed a 15% retention to be paid only once all work had been completed to our satisfaction. Joe demanded that all his money was paid, including the retention even before the work had been finished. His aggressive behaviour, treating us with suspicion, making false accusations and shouting at me was so stressful that I ended up paying him almost all the money even though the job had not been finished. Joe did not return to finish the job and also left our garden covered in litter. He visited our house and offered us valuable advice on how to achieve our goals and provided us with a very reasonable quotation. The work was completed on schedule and they cleared away all of the debris. We would be delighted to use their services again in the future.
