Jim was absolutely first class from initial home visit, quote, and then starting the job. He went above and beyond on what turned out to be a nightmare of a job. He had to do more work than he thought and smash through layers of concrete. Always with a smile. He was highly amusing to watch and a very personable guy. Never once asked for more than initially quoted. I would highly recommend. He is clearly a very skilled builder, and takes pride in his work. Quoted me £600 to replace 3 fence panels. Said he could do the work within a week. I paid him £350 deposit. He then tried to add £100 to the quote. His labourer removed 6 fence panels instead of 3. He tried to blame me for not supervising his labourer. He didn’t turn up on the agreed day to do the work. He then disappeared and didn’t reply to messages for 2 weeks. He agreed another date, and didn’t turn up again. Didn’t turn up the third time either. He still owes me £350 for the deposit and the cost of the panels he shouldn’t have removed. Lorne installed the fence panel and fixed the brick wall. He came to give estimate on time, picked up click and collect materials from local store and job was done the same evening. Job was done neatly. He is reliable and his price is decent. I will be happy to use him again for jobs and recommend him to other landlords.
