- Get in touchExtortionate amateur woodworker at best Agreed on repairing 2 stairs and 2 risers from pine wood as this is original material. Agreed on price thinking he wood be working most of the day and machining it to exact measurements. Turned up on day with a piece of plywood and said after doing the bodge job, you can’t get this in pine then said you only need one stair repaired, After I checked the work I noticed straight away the 5mm difference as I pointed out the difference he started to get a bit high rate and intimidating as I had my family in the house, try to charge me £250 for 2hours. Even then I tried reason with him and said I’ll pay you less as I’m not happy with work did not agree so I told him to rip out his work, why should I pay when no agreed of terms were met. I got a proper carpenter in and he managed to take out the bodge job and got pine wood from a timber merchant who machined down to size 22mm and and repaired the other creaking steps £137 including material.Latest review:Carpentry-

Get in touchIvan did a great job installing some new skirting boards. Excellent communication throughout, reliable, pleasant, was able to do the job the next day (a Saturday) and for a fair price. Thank you.Latest review:Carpentry- - Get in touchCan’t comment on Corey’s work because the job was not performed (fitting doors). Communication was poor after I gave him the job - as allegedly he ‘didn’t receive notifications on his phone’ when I text him to check he was still available to start on the date agreed. Then eventually 2 days before starting, and just after I’d had all the materials delivered, he sent me a message informing me his tools had been stolen 3days earlier and would not now be able to start the job. Make of that what you will… Lesson learned on my part, pick up the phone and call the tradesperson to get updates. But works both ways and giving your customer no working days notice of issues that arise some days earlier that might impact the jobs start date is not a great way to operate as a self employed trades person.Latest review:Carpentry-

Get in touchAdding New Plates for Skirting Boards and then Painted The carpenter was great in all areas of skill, explanations, timing and personality. I could not believe it was completed in such a quick time and got here quickly on 2 visits to get the job done properly. 1.Skill: The carpenter had a accurate eye for detail cutting 3 boards to size while gluing and effectively adding stability using a Pin Gun. No added strips needed to be cut to cover the gaps underneath the boards from a previous job done by another carpenter. Painted twice on the skirting boards with the same matching colours. (Matching other boards from the other walls) Great Job. 2.Explanation: The job was evaluated correctly and explained that the plates need to be replaced without adding any extra strips underneath. At first I did not think that it will work, however he proofed it completely wrong. Great Job. 3.Timing: Message were sent on the day before and today on arrival. Communication was great on the message and phone, very simple and straight forward. Great Job. 4. Personality: Quite talkative even when he is focusing on the job at hand. Gave great advice on other matters of previous DIY jobs that could of been done better, very effective and knowledgeable. Great Job. Overall all the requirements have been met and 6 years ago this is the Carpenter that should of done the work.Latest review:Carpentry- - Ben JohnsonCarpenter & Joiner in Thame
