I am a professional dry stone waller and stone mason working for contractors across Yorkshire. The craft of dry stone walling runs in my family with my father being a master craftsman and winning several awards. 5 years ago I picked up the torch after working in the shopfitting industry for the previous 5 years. Working with stone is now a passion of mine, dry stone walling being the bulk of the work I do but I often am asked to do various bit of masonry work and recently moved into stone sculpting. I have done a fair few sculptures now and thoroughly enjoyed every piece which has left me yearning for more. Unfortunately there is too much demand for the walling work that we do that I can’t take up the carving full time but I’m hoping to gain more experience and more of a clientele to feed my passion and hone in my skills as there is always more to learn.

I’ve got nearly 30 years experience as a Banker/Fixer mason, I was recently Director of a company called Mono Masonry, I left because I love being a stone mason, and being director I moved further and further away from it, so while I’m still young enough I want to get back to doing what I was meant to do, I’ve managed Multi million pound projects on cathedrals, stately Homes and many other types of buildings, but I’m never happier than when I’m carving a piece of stone or repairing, rebuilding or just even building something, I’ve never left a contract without a happy client and never intend to.
