We are often invited to work on listed buildings, Grade 1 and 2, working closely with conservation officers. We specialise in repairing/rebuilding walls that have been damaged by vehicles or other causes. Also repairs to paving and internal and external flagstones. No job is too small!
Everything started well, communication was great and 2 half days were quoted for. However on the day , a Friday, Ian didn't tell us till 3:30 he was going to complete the job in one and we had to change our plans to accommodate this. Had he communicated earlier in the day we could of not let the family down so last minute. He left the door and back gate open most of the time , wouldnt of worried if we didn't have a dog. He didn't tidy up at the end and we have cement/ whatever he was using on the drive and the dinning floor was left a complete mess. We even found him doing some of the work sat on one of our dinning chairs. All in all, brick world great but I wouldn't recommend , he was rude and left my wife in tears.Latest review:Stonemasonry- - Tom Waterman - Stonemasonry, Walling and Natural BuildingStonemason in Chard
Rating: 5 out of 5 552 reviewsGet in touchI have been working in the south west for the past 10 years. I initially trained in London, and worked on the V&A, National Gallery and Buckingham Palace, before making the move down here. With 15 years experience, I’m confident in all aspects of stonemasonry and walling. I’m detail oriented and my background is managing a wide variety of projects, from repointing local walls to projects at National Trust properties. I love building with natural materials, including Cobb, Hempcrete and Lime.
Tom was an absolute star, really knows his craft was polite, courteous and nothing was too much trouble, very tidy and cleaned up as he went along. I can definitely recommend him.Latest review:Stonemasonry- - A. Prouse Building ContractorsStonemason in Chard

Aaron and his team are exceptionally professional in everything they do. The quality of their workmanship, both as a team and as individuals is superb. I have been so impressed with their level of craftsmanship that since employing them for my original conversion, I have re-employed them for other jobs around my home. I would not hesitate to recommend them (I have already, several times) to friends, neighbours and family. Reacted very quickly to initial enquiry. Peter was very sympathetic and conscientious working on our older property and the job that needed to be completed. Peter is a very trust worthy person and was able to work on his own. He also communicated well. We would thoroughly recommend him for specialised building jobs.Latest review:Stonemasonry- - Gillan CookStonemason in Chard

Richard concluded that our damp issue was probably caused by a faulty windowsill rather than concrete pointing rather than lime. He gave us an overview of the process and said he’d need to do some further investigation before sending off for a quote for a replacement windowsill. I haven’t heard back from him with a quote despite chasing multiple times, his phone number just won’t connect at all, he’s not answered my messages on My Builder or via email either. I think diagnosis of the problem was correct, but communication terrible and job not completed leaving my property vulnerable.Latest review:Stonemasonry- - Riccardo TorziniStonemason in Chard
