Our business was established in 2008 and we provide a wide range of services including all house renovations, extension and new builds.
Quotation provided was within our budget. Works schedule provided to ensure clear list of work that would be completed by the builder and what needs to be supplied by ourselves. Approx timescale of 3 months work for completion. Workman were very punctual and all hardworking. At each stage of the renovation any additional works required were agreed before proceeding. Due to the condition of our internal walls we needed to agree additional work to replace them. Builder agreed to plaster board plus labour, which was as expected. All jobs at each stage were organised by the builder and at no stage were there any hold ups. There were some issues with the double glazing firm used but again A1 builders organised replacements and communicated with all parties to ensure the project completed on time. At any stage if something didn't look right from our original request we were consulted before proceeding. Example was we had originally requested two velux window in our extension but before cutting out we were advised that 3 would look better and let in more light. We are so glad we chose this option because A1 builders were correct. We also requested A1 builders to fit our Kitchen and tile our floor which again was in addition but we we agreed on a price before work started. All work was carried out to a high standard and exceeded our expectations. All workmen used by A1 builders were hard working and left work areas tidy before leaving the premises. Dan and Will made an excellent job of rendering our house, transforming it to one of the best looking in our street. These guys are very busy which delayed the start, this was not a negative as this a sign that they are good and reliable tradesmen who are in high demand. We are a proffesional company with over 25 years work experience in all aspects of household installations offering high quality installations. I will be aiming at all customers that want to maintain or renovate their property and want to create something special no matter how big or small the job.
I used this company for a complete water and heating system replacement and two bathrooms installations during the refurb of our bungalow. Heating system installation was poor, unorganised, attention to detail lacking, plus a leak that took six weeks to resolve. Bathrooms where OK but again attention to detail was lacking. Both had remedial work to do. All of the above where installed at a labour set price, with materials to be invoiced and staggered payments. Invoicing was haphazard, invoices raised after payment made. Invoicing detail of materials was non-existent most of the time. Due to other pressures of the refurb I paid an invoice that had already been paid, my error, no refund has thus far been received and my chase calls and email are totally ignored. I currently work on site at the minute building timber frame houses, been in bricklaying for 6 years now and have done plenty of privates too so previous experience doing private work. I also have experience in landscaping and offer removal services too.
Provided us with a competitive quote. Started work on the date we agreed and completed the work to a good standard. From the start of the project to its completion I was happy with the work.
