I had a frustrating experience with James. From the beginning, I asked for a proper house visit so we could confirm measurements, discuss important details (like access to our underfloor heating), and agree on a fixed price. He kept avoiding a visit, which already raised some concern. Despite the lack of a final agreement or job details, he suddenly claimed the job was confirmed and even said he’d bought materials — without my approval. I never agreed to the £900 price, and I clearly said I was still waiting for a full breakdown of the work. The whole situation felt rushed, pushy, and unprofessional. I wouldn’t trust someone who jumps ahead without proper confirmation and ignores basic communication boundaries. Be careful!

I have been advised to write this review by mybuilder. We employed innovative plastering to decorate our entire house. The standard was very poor with most rooms requiring significant work to fix them including 4 rooms needing full 2nd coats. Filling to walls and woodwork was done after they had been painted. We have lost our savings of £3000 and not a single room is finished. Our daughters room was the wrong colour. We have damage to floors (which need professional repair) and some of our belongings. Two snagging appointments were cancelled and after sending videos of all the problems the reply was 'really really really, God is the greatest. He whoever robs my puss rob's trash. But he whoever rob's my brain kills me'. This made my family feel extremely uncomfortable and determined we could not allow innovative plastering back given this and the standard of work. We have asked numerous times for a business address, insurance details for the damage and a refund. All have been refused.
