Oli and his team were really punctual, tidy and reliable. The foundations were not an easy job due to the limited space, depth required and utilities. However they were very careful and kept us updated as to the progress regularly as well as updating and liaising with the building inspector when required.

I have to give 100% for all points with oj building services. Oli and the team are top notch and over exceeded my expectations on every level. They were happy for me to start the job reducing their working hours, when they arrived they not only ordered a skip for the removal of the wall but also cleared up rubble I had enquired from other projects on the never ending house renovation. They were quick efficient and tidy brushing and tidying up after every day, I've worked with and used many traders in my time and this team has to be one of if not the best if seen. He fixed all the previous plumbers “work” & completed the jobs we had outstanding & he did a remarkable job! The finish on everything is perfectly professional & tidy. Agreed with Chris to brick up a couple of windows and create a new opening, estimated to take 3 days. He turned up on day one, worked half a day, then didn’t return due to van issues. A week later, he messaged to say he could come back, but due to limited communication, I chose not to continue. The main issue was that the original quote wasn’t itemised, so when trying to agree a price for the completed work, it became difficult. I felt the amount he was demanding didn’t fairly reflect the work completed, leading to a lot of back and forth. The work he did was satisfactory, but my advice to anyone hiring Chris is to ensure you get a detailed, broken-down quote so there’s clarity on what each part of the job costs.

We had Ideal Works in to knock 2 rooms into one starting last Monday(10th Oct) as arranged. Russell and his team turned up on time and carried out the work to a very high standard and completed on time. We were kept informed and up to date on the work and how it was coming along everyday. I would highly recommend Russell and Ideal Works for any kind of building work and we will be using them again in the future.

Obtained 3 quotes and selected Nathan after he visited the site and reviewed work and had conversation. Waited 2 weeks for him to become available and on first day contacted me to say he was pulling off the job. Apparently the door frames of this 1920's house required him to do much remedial work to get them square - primarily Nathan blàmed the plasterer who had overboarded the walls. Walls were passed for payment by two separate surveyors with over 80 years experience of the contruction industry. While it is accepted there were remedial efforts to make the frames square, this is to be expected on a house of this age - and perhaps this is where Nathan lacks experience. If Nathan had wanted to outline additional work and additional money this was open to negotiation - the most unprofessional thing is to turn up on the day of work starting and say you don't have time to do any additional work - especially as the job had been viewed before the work commenced. Didn't want to damage his reputation by providing "sub-standard work", but seemingly oblivious to the reputational damage of letting a customer down at the last minute. I have my doubts as to whether Nathan has the skills to work on houses of this age.

Alan and his sons did a fantastic job on converting my garage to a bedroom end suite and living area overcoming a few problems along the way.An overly keen inspector classed it as a new build so Alan had to spec it as such ,with little fuss and to an extremely high standard.They worked extremely hard to get it done within time scale,which he did, even though digging the floor out was not on the list and saved us the height and cost as we could keep our large patio doors.I chose Alan to do the the work because he informed me of the kinds of problems I may have had and and not what I just wanted to hear.He was very professional and new his stuff and cannot recommend him highly enough if you want quality workmanship.His son Scott also fitted our new external oil boiler and associated plumbing to a high standard so both went well together.Thanks again both. ...
