- Get in touchShoddy workmanship from start to Finnish. Inside stair Banister fitted is unsafe. Spindles coming away as they where cut too short, whole bannister runs at an angle leaving gaps at the top of spindles, so they easily come away. A child could pull them out! Gap spacing should be 9.9 cm by building standards, these are 13cm. It’s called the babies head rule. The joiner was instructed by my husband to fix the faults after day one but after a few attempts it’s still not safe. Whole thing shakes after him telling me it wouldn’t. He Also put two nails in middle of bannister to try and secure. There are two posts nailed together at the top of the stairs which just look odd when there should have just been an L shape and spindles. I’m going to have to have the whole thing taken down, purchase some more wood and pay someone to fix this. So upset at the whole situation. Too many faults to mention on here!
