After reading several reviews and getting a competitive quote I decided to give the job (taking down a chimney, making good and making my roof water tight. Dave and his colleague turned up and completed the job in a professional, polite and efficient manner. Although Dave came across an unexpected problem this was quickly dealt with in a proficient and cost effect way which didnt incur any extra additional costs. Although the weather was atrocious and it absoulutely poured down, the lads cracked on and got the job done, even coming in early Sunday to make sure the job was completed. After the job was complete the work area was left clean and tidy. Would definitely reccommend Rakes and Ladders to friends and family.

Dave was very knowledgeable and his experience and professionalism shone through. Job was completed a day after posting on the website to a very high standard. Kept in contact throughout and very reasonably priced. Very happy with his service, will now be asking him to complete other landscaping/building work tasks.

Dave fitted us in quickly to prevent rain coming in through some broken fascia. He did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again

Dave was hired for a problem that I had with a leak which I had coming in through or around our chimney. He arrived to quote when he said he would and quickly got onto the roof and diagnosed the problem. It was agreed that he fit a cover as the flashing was assessed as ok. Dave had to do the job in two parts as the benching could only be done when the cover could support the weight also the weather was bad. It's been very difficult to see if the work has fixed the problem (unoccupied) but I'm certain it hasn't got worse and I've not found any evidence at all in the attic even though we've had an enormous amount of rain lately. Dave has proved to be reliable, approachable, knowledgeable and responds to text messages in a short timeframe. His quote was reasonable and I am definitely thinking of employing him again very soon for a job I have in mind.

Dave fitted lead flashing above my carport canopy, carried out repairs to fix a leak & fitted new indoor window sills. Dave came (on time) to assess the job & to give me a quote which was very reasonable. He returned to carry out the work & I am very pleased with all his work. Dave is punctual,reliable,professional & polite. Oh and he does not leave any mess !! I am going to use Dave again & am thankful to have found him.

Dave identified the issue and completed the job to an excellent standard. Am using for further work on the property due to the quality of Dave's work.

When Dave initially came to look at the job he immediately knew where the damp was coming from and which repairs to carry out (several other builders had looked at it and didn't have a clue!). When Dave and his team returned to carry out their repairs not only did they complete all of the work they had quoted for they also plastered a small section in my bedroom free of charge simply because it was looking a little scruffy. I will have Dave back without hesitation as and when things need repairing. He is a true professional which is not something I can say about other tradesmen I have had in the past. All I can say is thank you Dave for giving my little boy his bedroom back!

WE HIRED DAVE THROUGH MY BUILDER THANK GOD WE DID WE WHERE IN A MESS, BUT WE WOULD RECOMMEND THIS GUY 100% NOT ONLY WAS HE THE CLEANEST BUILDER WE HAVE HAD TO DO JOBS FOR US HES RELIABLE ,TURNED UP ON TIME,AND WORKED AROUND HIS OTHER WORK TO SUIT US,HIS WORK IS FIRST CLASS AND WILL ASKING HIM TO DO MORE WORK FOR US THANKS DAVE YOU ARE A CREDIT TO YOUR TRADE.

Excellent. Polite. Explained everything - what he could do and how he'd do it. Priced labour and materials clearly. Reasonable overall price.

David built a garden wall on our property and the work was of a high standard and he cleaned up well each evening on completion. Some builders leave a bit of a mess so this was refreshing. I then asked David to do some internal decorating i.e painting which was well prepared prior to the actual painting. He also laid a laminate floor in our bathroom again a good standard of work
