In this day and age when we are all too quick to reach for the feedback button when things do not go our way (and I do include myself amongst them) it gives me great pleasure to give an excellent feedback for the installation of my Howdens kitchen. Mark was quick to respond and gave me a really keen sensible quotation, the work was started promptly. The old kitchen was removed a.m. and the new kitchen delivered p.m. and installation started that day. The kitchen fitter THOMAS worked tirelessly and to a very high standard. Small changes were explained to me and price differences made clear. Overall the installation went smoothly was completed on time to a far higher standard than was expected at the price agreed. I have already discussed future work with Mark and will have no hesitation in using and recommending him 100%.

The son, Rez (not the Father) did the job. He quoted one price then the father arrived and started complaining that the son had quoted to low for the job. Father treated the son like he was a complete idiot, in front of us, the clients. It was all very awkward. Not very professional behaviour in my opinion. The son proceeded to dismantle our old kitchen. He then fitted the new one but there were some issues mainly due to inexperience. For example he cut up one of the cabinet doors because he thought it was surplus. It was not, so he had to purchase another one. He fitted the worktop by gouging out the wall at one end, instead of just cutting the worktop to the correct length. He did not 'make good' the wall, just left it looking messy and unfinished. At the end of the job, he added charges for fitting the plinth, the oven and extractor fan. I assumed these would be included in the quote but he said they were not. I felt a bit miffed about that. Rez was a pleasant guy, easy going and friendly but he took twice as long to fit the kitchen as he estimated. He would often arrive after midday (although to be fair he stayed until 7 or 8pm). I would not hire this company again.

When meeting with Martin the first time, he came across as knowledgeable, hard working and reliable. We went with his quote as all the builders we had met he seen the most genuine in knowing what needed to be done. Sadly we have been proven wrong. Martin has since left halfway through the job after taking a large deposit and leaving the work unfinished, with no electricity in our kitchen, wires hanging out and no fitted bathroom suite. We discovered they had left after popping to the shops after 4 weeks of work and coming back to them cleared out. After inspecting the work completed we have noticed a long list of mistakes and issue. Most importantly, the fact they were completely unable to fit a kitchen following the very detailed plan. Which is now fitted incorrectly but will cost us too much to put right! The snag list is as long as our arm, from laying cracked tiles, to the doors hinges being in plaster. Having two young children he left us in a real dangerous situation. No bathroom, No cooking facilities and not being able to use the washing machine. When someone claims to have 15+ years experience I honestly expected better service and the ability to complete a job and behave like a reputable trades men. People like him really gives the trades a bad name.

Mark completed the job from start to finish on his own which included the removal of our old Kitchen including the removal of all old wall and floor tiles, wallpaper etc. Completing all the work to a high standard including electrical installations of new sockets and plumbing of the new sink unit. After Mark had removed our old Kitchen and completed the burying of unsightly exiting heating pipe work which we asked him to do the Kitchen was plastered from top to bottom walls and ceiling. He then was able to complete the Kitchen fitting to a professional standard which I commend including the tiling of the floor and walls, new skirting boards and decoration, installation of a new fuse board and checking the whole house electrical circuits and supplying certificates for all installations and testing. He also provided gas certified certificates for the gas hob he fitted. His attention to detail was exceptional. I would recommend Mark and would use Mark again in the future should I need to.
