James Hynes of JCH Home Improvements have just refurbished our decking area. We thought it was a straight forward job, just to renew the decking and a tidy up BUT the original wood was so rotted the whole area had to be renewed. Joists, upright timbers etc We are thrilled with what James has done, so much more work than anticipated but the end result is fantastic. Would thoroughly recommend JCH Home Improvements and we will be using the again.

I done a 5 day intense course to learn plastering and dryline to help push my self as person and as a builder . Matt of Pro Build (East) Ltd. was instructed to complete a home extension on my Victorian Mid-Terrace property at the beginning of July 2019. Matt initially replied to my MyBuilder advert promptly, came to view the job within days and could start the next week (in hindsight, probably not a good sign). He started work on the Monday, providing a quotation and an expected completion date of 3-4 weeks later for the complete extension including removal of waste, plastering and external rendering. Throughout the build, Matt's communication was prompt, replying to emails, phone calls and text messages mostly within the same day. Unfortunately, on a number of occasions problems arose with the project and I was frequently to blame for certain aspects, for example it was my fault that the roof could not have slates because the roof was built at a low pitch - however the quote included slates? The quality of workmanship throughout the build was very varied, requiring Matt and his team to return a number of times to re-do work which was deemed unsatisfactory by me, other workmen and the building inspector. There is quite often a number of excuses for why work has not been done, or why it has been done to a low standard as opposed to correcting the issue without argument. In the end, the whole build took 14 weeks to complete and remained to have a number of snagging issues, I would not personally recommend this company for larger works such as this.
