From the first visit when they came to do a site overview to produce the quote they had warned me that there could be some unknowns once we demolish the existing lean-to as there were no registry or plans for how the sewage/water pipes went under the house. Other than the groundwork adaptations which incurred a bit of a cost increase Rowan's quote was adhered to to the penny, in fact, to get the foundations to not interfere with the pipes, my extension ended up being a couple feet bigger and this was not charged extra by Rowan. Scheduling wise, The demolition and extension rebuild to first fix was scheduled for 5 weeks, but I was so impressed with the work i decided to extend the contract all the way to second fix/finished extension - including decorations, all in all the whole project took about 8 weeks, which considering I kept them on till the decorating was finished is inline with the original schedule. I would like to particularly thank the guys who spent the longest on my site: James and Simon as they were very patient and informative and had to put up with my dog disturbing them the most, but also thank to Graeme, Cossie, Scarfy, Mick, Dave and John for all the work they did, and to Mike and David for coordinating the whole project. i would recommend Rowan to anyone that is looking for a 'one stop firm' to do a whole project without having any stress of managing it yourself, and most of all at a good price!

I consider Schofield Carpentry to be a lucky find, thank you Simon. Simon repaired an external beam with extensive rot at my home. He cleaned out the rotten area and carved a heavy block of hard wood so that it fit the cavity perfectly and was also shaped on the outside to be in keeping with my Grade II listed cottage. It was a work of sculpture! Simon also identified some other areas of preventative maintenance and completed this work, for a very reasonable price. I'm very grateful.
