Scott is very pleasant and very efficient. He came and gave an estimate for the job and gave me a choice of dates to do it. He arrived punctually and worked hard all morning. The insulation looked good . He took photos to show me the parts that I wasn't able to see. When finished, he cleaned up very thoroughly. I would definitely recommend him.

We recently had our garage conversion completed by Mathew and his team, Rumba and Danny, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. From start to finish, the whole process was handled professionally and to a very high standard. The project involved structural beam work, and the team did an excellent job managing everything smoothly and safely. Their workmanship and attention to detail were outstanding throughout. The flooring, painting, and electrics were all completed beautifully, and the finish exceeded our expectations. The team was reliable, hardworking, and always kept the place tidy and organised. Hired Mickey and co to install a new ceiling of a tenants bedroom, and a few odd jobs. Main job was completed seemingly to standard and on time [however they did leave the floor messy and spots of plaster everywhere - minor issue but unnecessary]. However, it was 1 smaller job [approx 7% cost of the total job] of installing shelves that was done so amazingly badly - that the shelves fell down within 12 hours of install from their own weight. Upon closer inspection - the shelves are so badly damaged from the install that they are now unusable. I informed them of this, they acknowledged the problem and said they will sort. Payment has already been made - so I was relying on their word. I said - if you do not sort this out I will have to organise repair at my own cost. I was then ignored. The shelves and fitting cost approx £100 - [all wasted] + repair to the wall will now be an additional cost. This is unacceptable when I am trying to run a business to keep many tenants happy at multiple properties.

The job - gutting our living room. Tearing down the ceiling, removing all old wallpaper and ripping up the floor in order to insulate and add lighting. While we were doing this, we decided to replace the main steel in the living room (which was oversize and impacted the floor height in the guest room) and do remedial works in the guest room. The steel replacement was not time budgeted, but Oli and Tony didn’t hesitate to quote,To make time for us and bring in the structural engineer. Probably added 3 weeks to their time on site. The trades they brought in (plumbing for heating, electrician for downlighters, structural engineer and plasterers) were all professional, did an excellent job and were all unfailingly polite. It was easy to build a good, positive relationship with them, to the point we felt comfortable giving them the keys to the house so they could work while we went away for two weeks. They sent photos of their progress and showed up and worked as if we were there. I was very impressed by the state of the house when we got back. They watered our plants (I didn’t ask) and they cleaned the hallway so that it was spotless. They did a good job for a fair price, and were always cheerful and open to conversation. They came back to do a few snagging items without being chased (this is a huge thing for me, after having chased many builders to finish bits and pieces). I would definitely use them again.

Initially we were so delighted to have Darren Jones to take on our urgent work - he seemed so positive and knowledgeable. However, so many things had to be constantly over-seen to make sure that the work was completed satisfactorily. Removal of severely rotten wood (dry rot) from window frame had to be asked for, inserting a concrete lintel (wooden one affected by dry rot was hidden behind plaster board and I had to ask to see if the concrete lintel had been used - it hadn't). Rebuilding of window frame had to be monitored step by step to ensure a Victorian effect was achieved without using any UPVC, and then the doorway was built too small for the existing door even having asked to make sure it would be built to fit the door. A job which should only have taken 8 working days ended up taking 6 weeks. There were many delays, and in the end we had to arrange for all rubbish to be removed ourselves and to arrange for various little jobs to be done by other people as the tenants were ready to move in - Darren knew about the deadline right from the beginning of the work. In the end we have a reasonable job but the stress in keeping the job up to an acceptable level of workmanship without living there was quite considerable. Darren's son Derron and friend Dave worked very hard to try and rectify many things for us doing a good job in the end for which we were very grateful.
