I have recently decided to take the jump and work for myself as a sole trader, I have been a supervising joiner at a company before hand for 2 years. I started learning my trade at a very young age and picked up many other useful things along the way such as tiling, plastering and even small amounts of plumbing. I have completed many jobs off the record for friends and family throughout the years from small jobs such as fitting doors/skirting board, to installing many bathrooms and kitchens, but to do this in school hours is what I’ll be taking on and I cannot wait! As I've always been an outdoor person it was quite natural to switch from being an office worker to owning my gardening business. I spent decades under neon lights staring at a computer screen not knowing neither the time nor the life outside. I got tired of being disconnected from the nature that's why I become a full time gardener. I started as a weekend job up until 2022 when I gathered all my courage and left my well paid position at a transport company. No regret apart from the one that I should have done it a lot earlier. Now I'm designing, landscaping, building gardens and also maintaining them if required. I'm also taking on tree surgery jobs as well and as an extra I'm doing carpentry as I always loved working with wood and create something satisfying.
