Arrived on time , got on with the job in hand and really did a fantastic job no issues at all . Communicated throughout the work and cleared up the waste and tidied afterwards. I hired Dan to give me a hand on an extension, he was very knowledgeable and knew how to set out and overcome problems which many bricklayers don't know how to do. He was hard worker and a very nice man as well which is a bonus. This was a one day small wall repair. there are two parts to the wall (separated by a path). The first curved part was completed by Steffan's father and looks good. The other part of the wall done (a week later!) was covered when completed and we were told to wait 2 weeks before removing the covers - when we did we felt we had been well and truly 'scammed' - not a good feeling especially when in your 80's. The pointing is not good, it's sloppy, rough, uneven and a weird colour - looks like he ran out of cement and added extra sand to make up the quantity, there is little vertical alignment. Steffan took a photo of the good curved wall - it was his job - but NOT HIS work. He didn't take a photo of his work. He has since seen photos of his work - response was "thanks for the input it will be duly noted" - not what one expects from a professional trades person. photo 1 - sloppy pointing and poor alignment. photo 2 poor vertical alignment - tools - us smoothing down pointing
