After 13 years and 16 jobs on here, this is my first negative review. But I would avoid at all costs for large projects, due to their lack of communication and organisational skills. If you do proceed, I’d suggest: - Confirm in writing they’ve read and understood all the plans and have no questions or concerns about anything. - Confirm that cost overruns will be communicated weekly, with a breakdown of the costs. - Confirm the builders on site will have been given the actual plans for the work being done. - Confirm terms will be agreed up-front and will not change them weekly. - Arrange payments on milestones met and not time elapsed. Confirm additional work will only proceed when agreed in writing in advance. - Require weekly f2f meetings with the owner at end of play on Fridays to assess progress and surface any issues, concerns or questions. - Confirm who will be leading the project on-site. - Confirm that if huge overages will be presented with an itemised breakdown.

I used Tuler for a complete bathroom refit. Unfortunately the job ran over significantly, and the finish was bad, so bad I’ve had to get somebody else to put the job right. There was damage left to my property including grout in carpets, damage to walls and banisters and water damage to my porch among other issues. Having had professionals over to review the work completed by Tuler they were shocked- as are we to this day. Our experience has been unfortunate and disappointing. We would love to leave a better review but we simply cannot.

Elliott and Jake were professional, friendly and wonderfully efficient. Elliott gave a rough estimate from outline drawings then a detailed quote from detailed drawings. They then built to that quote, explaining any variations with us and confirming the cost before progressing and keeping us informed at every stage. They worked quickly, cleanly and to a very high standard, with the minimum disruption to us. We would recommend them to anyone.

Very pleased with the installation of a new shower, toilet and basin which turned what was a truly awful wet room into a very nice little bathroom. Great communication and negotiation around price which was mainly done over the phone and by text as the house is not our permanent home. The only bit I am disappointed with is the join between the new plaster and ceiling which I will need to fill in places before decorating but overall, a great job and I would highly recommend them.

I have been self employed for over 18 years, as a bathroom and kitchen installer. I do all my Owen plumbing and carpentry. When I started my business, I secured a contract with MFI as one of there installers, when MFI closed, I secured a contract with Homebase as one of there installers and have been there ever since. I have been very fortunate, as this is the first time in 18 years, that I have had to advertise for work.

Russell had excellent communication from start of job to finish. He was very reliable and tidy, in fact after he had finished you wouldn't have known he'd been. I would have no hesitation recommending him for jobs, in fact I've currently got him quoting for our bathrooms now. Out of all the tradespeople we have hired since moving to Devon this company ticks all the boxes.

What to ask a bathroom fitter in Paignton before hiring?

Before hiring a bathroom installation company in Paignton, ask a few key questions to ensure you’re choosing the right professional for your job.

How long have you been fitting bathrooms in Paignton, and what qualifications do you hold?

Bathroom fitters in Paignton will be able to explain their experience and any trade qualifications, such as NVQs in plumbing or construction. Membership of recognised trade bodies (like the CIPHE or the Federation of Master Builders) is also a good sign of professionalism. Check out our hiring guide for more information on how to hire a bathroom fitter.

Can you help with design and layout advice?

Some bathroom fitters in Paignton offer design support, helping you plan the layout, select fixtures, and make the most of your space. Clarify whether this is included or an additional service.

Can you show me examples of similar bathroom projects you’ve completed in Paignton?

Ask to see photos or examples of past projects, especially ones similar to yours in size and style. A local bathroom fitter in Paignton will understand the typical layouts, water pressure issues, and building regulations in your area. Checking reviews or feedback from nearby customers on MyBuilder also helps you confirm the quality of their workmanship.

How long will the bathroom installation take, and when can you start?

Project timelines can vary depending on the scope of the work. A full bathroom renovation in Paignton might take 1 to 2 weeks, while replacing a few fixtures could be completed in a few days. Discuss start dates, estimated completion times, and how long your bathroom will be out of use, so you can plan accordingly.

Do you offer a guarantee or warranty on your work?

Most bathroom fitters in Paignton will guarantee their workmanship for at least 6 to 12 months. This gives you peace of mind that any problems with the installation will be corrected. Also check whether the materials or fixtures they install come with manufacturer warranties, which can extend your protection further.

FAQ: Common questions about bathroom fitters in Paignton

Do bathroom fitters in Paignton handle plumbing and electrical work?

Many bathroom fitters in Paignton are trained to carry out basic plumbing and electrical work, such as installing new taps, showers, and lighting. However, for more complex tasks, like moving pipework or rewiring, they may work with plumbers or electricians. Always check that anyone carrying out electrical work is registered with a competent person scheme such as NICEIC or NAPIT.

Will a bathroom fitter dispose of old fittings and materials?

Most bathroom fitters in Paignton will include the removal and disposal of old fixtures, tiles, and debris as part of their service, but it’s best to confirm this when getting your quote. If waste disposal isn’t included, they can usually arrange it for an additional fee.

Do I need planning permission for a bathroom fitter in Paignton to renovate my bathroom?

In most cases, you don’t need planning permission for a bathroom fitter in Paignton to renovate or replace a bathroom, as it’s considered internal work. However, if you’re adding a new bathroom where there wasn’t one before, or your property is a listed building, you may need approval. Your fitter can advise you or direct you to your local council’s building control team.
