We employed A Kelsey Construction to complete the renovation of our 19th Century Grade II listed home in Staffordshire. Until recently, I was a co-owner of an Architectural Practice, and required a Contractor who could meet our demanding needs. We interviewed a short-list of three potential candidates and it was quite clear that the Contractor had the requisite skills and attitude to make our project a success. In short, their attention to detail and solution finding approach, (especially in our C 19th home) was refreshing. Communication and attendance was very good, and we were pleased with the results. As an Architectural Practice, we later introduced them to some of our professional contacts, and they went on to complete a further project for one of my colleagues with an excellent outcome. Ben and Stuart laid concrete foundation for our garden room as well as associated drainage work as we are also installing a wet room, and honestly, they were great. Communication was spot-on from the start — they were quick to respond and kept us in the loop. The quote they gave us was very reasonable considering the amount of work involved. They were also the only builder to provide an itemized breakdown of all the materials, so there were no surprises in cost or scope of work. The quality of their work is solid (literally) — good workmanship, and they were happy to take on any feedback we had, and make adjustments. They also made sure everything was tidied up before they left. Overall, Ben and Stuart are professional, reliable team. He offered to come three days after we agreed his price, and was punctual and efficient. The work was mostly outside and he COVID safety compliant throughout. Apart from a minor delay with the start date the job went very well. All the lads were very polite and professional, they got the doors fitted quickly without creating huge amounts of dust or mess. Any mess was swept up and cleared away leaving the area clean. Would happily recommend or have them back to do more work.
