From providing a quote for the work to the end of the job Lewis was professional, courteous and helpful at all times. He made the whole process stress free from liaising with my architect and council building control and kept me informed at all times as to the various stages of the building works. Having worked with a number of contractors I can honestly say that Lewis is by far one of the best individuals I have worked with and he also understands that his team are a reflection of his work ethic and were also very friendly and diligent in their approach Overall I would have no hesitation in contracting Lewis again for building works ( in fact I already have) and would highly recommend Urbanworks if you are looking for a company who not only has the competency to deliver a quality product but also has excellent communication and interpersonal skills qualities which are very rare in the building trade.

Background – I hired a builder to complete my renovation work who walked off my project mid build – that builder left my site open to the elements, poorly built and basically a total construction mess. Lewis rescued me from this nightmare and for me he has been the builder’s equivalent of a knight in shining armour. Having invested heavily financially and emotionally with the first builder it’s pretty fair to say that I was as much of a mess as my property was and Lewis has worked wonders to restore my faith in builders and human beings. As I was so upset by what had happened Lewis stepped in and took over managing a number of the issues, including dealing with the utility companies and the constant complaints from my challenging neighbours and his team quickly set about correcting the terrible building work, completing the build on time and budget. Lewis is very experienced and has suggested some great improvements to my overall build and as a single women I have never once felt like I was being bluffed or oversold with builders speak and it has been a pleasure to work with him. The renovation work and new extension have been finished to a very high standard and quality, the recent estate agents who have visited have all commented on the quality of the workmanship. I am more than happy to be a reference for Lewis so if you are considering him as a builder ask him for my details for a reference.

I am extremely happy with the work at Lewis and the team at Urbanworks delivered, and would recommend them without hesitation. The level of professionalism was clear when Lewis came around to quote for the job, and even after changes from Building Control, and some changes in scope of the work from me, Lewis made everything seamless - and even managed to complete everything before Christmas. We can't praise Lewis enough for the work on our house. He knocked down walls, and fitted a bathroom for us as well as making good. Lewis managed the project throughout and dealt with building control and our structural engineer making the whole process hassle free. We're really pleased with the finished product. Lewis was always polite, friendly and willing to do extra work when he had time (like putting in an outside tap and hanging some shelves for us) as a favour. Amar, Lewis's labourer, was also great. They both had an excelletn work ethic and were a pleasure to have around the house. Thanks Urbanworks!

If you are looking for a regular builder to do an adequate job with which you'll be moderately satisfied on completion, then look elsewhere. If however you are looking for a builder who will consult with you on each step of the work, a builder who will look at what you consider to be satisfactory and then redo it as it doesn't meet his own high standards, and a builder who will go the extra mile in terms of time, commitment and attention to detail, then Lewis at Urbanworks is almost certainly the man you're looking for.

More than happy with Lewis's service, He was very helpful from start to finish and even dealt with building control for me. He done a great job for a good price and I will be happy to use again.

We hired lewis to knock through our bathroom into the box room and join the two together. He was helpful with the planning and stayed well in touch throughout the whole project, keeping us up to date every step of the way. The quality of the work is very high and he has been happy to come back to finish off a few bits that we changed after the initial project was done. We will use him again for for future projects and would recommend Urbanworks for similar work!

Outgoing and flexible in doing additional unplanned bits as need raised. Plastering not up to standard, one rebuilt wall not parallel with opposite one.

Good experience working with Lewis and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. The job was for removal of a wall between the dinning room and kitchen. Lewis was professional and helpful from the start. He did a great job of keeping dust and dirt to a minimum at the end of each day and the end result is fantastic, we are really happy. All in all it was a positive experience and we would highly recommend Lewis – in fact we want him back for some further work in the very near future. Lewis liaised with building control etc. on our behalf which took the hassle out of the job and he even lent us his discount card at B+Q for ordering a new kitchen. Thanks Lewis!
