Absolutely amazing job by Alex & his team. My job, to fix my very damp wall, on my 1860 home, started in March 2024. The wall was covered with 3” thick render and the brickwork, which would have originally been lime, had been pointed badly with cement. Alex has a wealth of knowledge & experience, and his team, Dale & Dean, are craftsmen; aided admirably by Dave. They are all fascinating to watch, and they are perfectionists, and enjoy & love their craft. The phrase “you get what you pay for”, is exactly right here. Alex will tell you himself, he uses the best products for your job, and his skills, experience and workmanship is what you are paying for, and is worth it. The team were great to have around, they are respectful and super tidy. The job, was a difficult one, with lots of surprises once the render was off, but the end result is just amazing. Who knew a new wall could be sexy! I cannot thank Alex & the team enough, and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Great efficient service! Alex is extremely knowledgeable and came and gave me a quote within 24hrs of posting the job. Him and his team then carried out the work when he said he would and in the time he had advised. Very fair price for works carried out. Would highly recommend and will be using for any future works that may be required.

Alex responded quickly to my post. He investigated the problem with the roof felt thoroughly before clearly explaining the options to resolve it. He followed this up by e-mailing two detailed quotes with the choice of either a substantial repair to the area worst affected or a complete re-roof. Due to financial constraints I opted for the repair, with a re-roof later in 2024. Despite very windy conditions, the work was completed tidily and on time. The team were enthusiastic and patient in explaining the issues to me which further increased my confidence in them. They may not be the cheapest out there but I would recommend ADR for their professionalism and attitude.

Alex responded to the question I posted on this site almost immediately, which I was pleasantly surprised about. He telephoned the next day and came out to see us within a week. We hired him for the job of replacing our main roof (which was covered in foam insulation) and flat roof because we were impressed with his passion for older houses and his knowledge about their specific needs. We were confident that the work would be completed to a good standard using the highest quality materials. Alex scheduled our job in between other jobs so there was no waiting around. His team were great - reliable, hard working and tidied up after themselves. They ran into a slight problem when part of the job was more complicated than initially thought, but they worked hard to find a resolution that suited our financial abilities and met their high standards. All work has been signed off by building regs and all paperwork received and is all backed by Alex's 10 year guarantee. If you're looking for a cheap bodge job, these aren't the guys for you. If you want a good quality job doing properly, you should contact them with confidence. We'll definitely use them again.

Alex and his team are truly hidden gems. I honestly can't say enough good things about them! He visited us 3-4 times to investigate our issues, taking time to explain his thoughts and possible solutions while teaching us all about the fundamentals of maintaining an old house. His quote was reasonable and he understood the limitations we had in terms of budget, time and listed status, and crucially it didn't change - even in the face of material shortages and price hikes. The work was completed to really high standard with minimal disruption, and I'm so impressed with how the team left the site. There aren't many who would ask for a hoover to finish clearing up a job at 6pm on a Saturday! I'm looking forwards to working with ADR in the future; I won't be trust anyone else with our wonky old house again!
