Average cost of a quooker tap
A quooker tap is a kitchen tap that gives you instant boiling water straight from the spout, instead of using a kettle.
It can also work like a normal tap, providing regular hot and cold water, and some models add chilled filtered and sparkling water too.
What’s included in a quooker tap?:
- Tap and tank: The main part, often determining the base price of the unit.
- Installation kit: Includes all the necessary fittings.
- Water filters: To keep the water quality at a good level.
- Control systems: To make the water temperature how you like it.
Professional quooker tap installation cost
Typically, the cost for installing a quooker tap ranges between £300 and £400. Additional electrical work, such as installing a new socket under the sink, may cost an extra £50 to £150.
Always check with your retailer to see if they offer bundled installation services, as this could save money and streamline the process.
Several factors can affect the installation cost:
- Plumbing requirements: Complexity and accessibility can affect prices.
- Electrical needs: Installing new sockets may incur extra expenses.
- Type of quooker tap: Different models may have different installation needs.

Telford cylinder - what’s the right thermostat setting for an horizontal unvented indirect cylinder?
Anonymous user 22/10/2026 - 8.00 AM
Hi, I have a Telford unvented indirect water cylinder (horizontal 250l), which causes overheating issues with water dripping in tundish when the boiler kicks in. We tried replacing TPRV and boiler thermostat but still the same issue. We finally decided to take immersion heater out and took a peek inside the tank, which looked very clean and fine. One thing that took my attention though was how short the boiler thermostat probes are. My plumber thought they might struggle to read the right temperature. See photo attached. Then, we called the Telford technical support which claimed that the design is fine and since the thermostat is at the coldest spot of the tank, the official recommendation for the boiler thermostat is 40 degrees. As mine was set to 60, the guy said I was basically overheating the tank. It sounds fine in its own right, but how about legionella? I thought every hot water tank must be set to 60 degrees to avoid legionella, no matter whether its a horizontal or vertical tank, regardless of the manufacturer etc. I can’t see this 40 degree recommendation on Telford’s installation booklet either. Has anyone had such an issue before and do you thinks it’s sensible to set it to 40 degrees?

Hi, im wondering if it would be possible and what would be the easiest / cheapest way to do this. I need to put a toilet in my detached garage. The bathroom (upstairs in the house) is on the same side as the garage, is there a way to do this cheaply without having to dig anything up?
