We are so lucky to have Dan as our plumber. He had done such a great job fitting our cast iron radiators, pipes and bathroom suite. He is amazing at his job, but also such a kind, well-intentioned person. He has been there to help whenever we've needed him (he even took a call at 10pm to talk me through how to fix our boiler!) and has given us really helpful, honest advice on all the work we've had done. I cannot recommend him more highly and I look forward to him taking care of the future plumbing jobs in our house. When Stephen said it will cost me £70 for him to come and have a look at what needs fixing, I was reluctant but, he made the case for coming and if he could not find a solution how payment should not be made. I must say, he fixed the problem and now all is well and my shower amongst other things are working on full pressure. He quoted me £350 but he sent someone else to do the job. The person that arrived did not have the correct equipment. So he left my house to go and buy equipment (infrared camera) and returned hours later. The equipment needed charging for one hour before use - charged in my house. Then he spent few minutes using the leak detector camera, then asked for payment of £350. So I asked what is next? He said he will return another day to start digging because it is too late in the day to start the work now (it was 2pm). He came and first thing, he told me to go and buy a shovel from B&Q - not sure why you would turn up to a digging job without a shovel. Anyways, I managed to get one. He did few minutes work, then left his labourer in charge. They did 3 hours work and charged me another full days work. Now I have paid £700 and still issue is not resolved. SD Solutions keep saying “why did you make another deal and agree to pay?”.

Thanas recently refurbished our bathroom, which involved ripping out the existing bathroom, plastering the walls, tiling the wall and floors, installing the new bathroom suite and painting. We were extremely impressed with the quality of work that was done and have no hesitation in recommending Nicholas & George Builders Ltd. Thanas worked long days and weekends to get the job completed, and was patient when we incurred delays from suppliers which held the job up. Advice was offered on the best way to complete certain aspects of the job, and which materials would be best suited for the installation. A specific example of the quality of work, was when at one point, after laying the floor tiles, Thanas discovered that the grout we had sourced was not properly securing the tiles, so he took all of the tiles back up, sourced some better grout and re-tiled the floor, which most builders would probably not have done. A week or so after the installation was completed, and once everything had bedded in, we noticed a small problem with a seal on the basin tap that we had bought, which Thanas quickly came out to fix in his own time and free of charge. The finished bathroom looks beautiful, and we cannot fault Thanas' quality of work and commitment to delivering the best outcome possible. Thanas works to very high standards and will not consider the job finished until those standards are met. We are planning on refurbising our kitchen next year and Thanas will be the first person that we call.Latest review:
