Will project managed the whole first floor dormer extension which he did better than we could hope for, taking all the worry out of the work. He had great attention to detail and took on board everything we said or asked for. Will was thorough in his preparation of the estimate and we were really only over because our old house threw up extras and we opted for additional work. He kept us informed of what the extras were likely to be at all times and always checked with us first. We felt he was approachable and it was easy to discuss any queries with him. We are extremely pleased with the quality of finish and the end result. Overall the quality of the work was good, but the price was quite high. We were on a tight schedule otherwise we might have gone for a cheaper option. The previous builder had installed a pocket door system but failed to include any doors or construct the system properly. However, C. Oakes and Sons confidently assured us they could assist in installing the four pocket doors despite these issues. They successfully installed all four doors and sourced parts to create doorstops, as none had been incorporated into the system. Adam and Chris were super when we were collecting quotes for the job, and very responsive to our queries and concerns. There were Brexit, pandemic, and building-regs related delays to starting, and completing, the job, but Adam and Chris always did as much as they could at the time. As did the other guys working for them - a decent bunch of lads. Overall the job was completed to a decent standard and we're happy with the majority of the finish; only problems relate to the plumbing side of the project which are a bit of an annoyance (nothing goes perfectly though, does it?). Steve built an insulated, wooden-framed workshop/studio for us in our garden. We are delighted with the final result which is attractive and well finished despite being built to a tight budget. Steve is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and professional with impressive skills both practically and as a project manager. A real strength was his ability to listen, and respond, to what we wanted. We found him flexible and considerate, keeping mess to a minimum and communicating well with us throughout. He took a pride in his work and was completely honest and trustworthy. Our project was completed on time and within budget. Adam was very helpful and accommodation from start to finish. He completed our extension for us, adding drainage, a new warm roof, insulating and cladding the outside of the existing property and new extension, fitting doors and windows, adding stud walls, finishing the internals to plaster and fitting internal doors and skirting. He spoke to building control and worked with them to ensure the work was fully compliant with building regulations. He's was very accommodating with payments, which were completed in stages and we had a lot of trust in him because of this. He was flexible in terms of when he completed the work for us as well, which really helped. If we had any slight changes we wanted to make or we noticed any issues he was very fast to fix these and he ensured all of his work was carried out to a high quality.
