- Get in touchBotched job and charged unfairly!! Andrew has initially said the job can’t be done, but after further consultation, we have agreed for an atypical solution, namely to put the duct through the ceiling, going underneath the bathtub, and then outside through the bathroom wall. After a trip to get the needed materials, he started working on it. Nearing the end of the project(about 3hrs), I left him to finish unsupervised for about 30 minutes. He has nailed the wooden cover that was covering the space under the bathtub, told me it’s all finished, I paid him and he went on his way. Later that day, after cooking, smell in the bathroom was terrible. I eventually called another handyman to remove the entire project, and on opening the cover, I found that the two plastic tubes that were supposed to be joined were about 20-30cm apart. They were far shorter than needed to connect; so can’t assume it got loose from the steam. Clearly a botched job, where he hid the problem and he still charged me.
