Overall we were pleased with the work, although there were a few problems during the project that perhaps could have been avoided through better communication.

Hector and his team quoted promptly and flexed the quote in the light of plans changing. They were price competitive and undertook to do the work within the tight timetable. He and his team are all Spanish speakers and Hector is entirely bi lingual so going through him wasnt an issue. He was always available on the phone if not on site and was very friendly and accommodating. If you have a job to include building structure, plumbing, electrics, internal, roof or basement then specify it properly and Hector will quote you accordingly. If there are changes he will do them but if outside the quote then further payment is usual. If there were some things he wouldnt do which I requested, it was usually because he was right in order to keep the building's character and make it more saleable. For example I was going to leave some stained glass but he had it taken out, refurbished and replaced as part of his quote. All the viewers of the property commented favourably upon its initial impact at the front of the building. Where there were snags at the end he had little hesitation in returning and I would use him again. We have a good working relationship and generally good communications. We were quick to agree with each other what was reasonable for him to pay for and what was reasonable for me.

We bought a damp, smelly, dirty two bedroom flat and less than 3 months later hector and his team had completely transformed it into a smart, warm, bright apartment. We were on a tight budget and Hector worked with us to get as much done as possible within that constraint. He made really helpful suggestions about the layout and design of the rooms. The whole team is trustworthy and reliable - they had a key to our house for more than six months, as we asked them to come back a number of times to do further jobs. Also good at snagging, making sure everything was finished to our standards and any minor issues rectified. We're really pleased with the result and with Genesis London for getting us here.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. When my boiler leaked into my hallway ceiling (and newly painted walls!) Hector came around at very short notice and quickly diagnosed and stabilised the problem. By the following day it was all fixed! Would definitely recommend Hector and Genesis London and would be happy to use them again in the future.

Hector and his team did a great job installing a full bathroom suite, including tiling, plumbing and electrical. This was a project where attention to detail was essential, as the pieces were all costly (CP Hart) and everything had to fit together to the mm. After only some trial and error, which was always undertaken promptly and without any grumbles, Genesis delivered a beautiful bathroom within a tight timeframe.

Well treatment and polite professionals. We had a problem with the organisation and timings but they made up for this mistake by showing a wide range of availability. Their ideas were good and we are pleased with quality of materials and overall result.

We needed our 2 bed house refurbished after a tenant left and unfortunately employed Genesis London. This was a big mistake. We have been left with just as big a job as if we had done it ourselves in the first place but are now in the process of doing. My husband has been in the building trade over 40 years, has worked on some of the biggest projects in London and knows bad workmanship when he sees it. Basically the only 2 jobs that were done well were the plastering and repairing of metal railings, most of the other jobs have had to be redone. NONE of the 4 new doors that were hung would close after fitting and the wood damaged during cutting, handles not fitted properly, one upside down, the kitchen worktop went uphill from 0 to 3cm over a 2m length at 2 sides and when adjusted meant a huge gap was visible under the tiling which also wasn't level. This has had to be removed and redone. Kitchen cupboards weren’t level & 2 damaged. The woodwork wasn't washed or undercoated (despite us buying it) resulting in peeling paint and only one coat of paint was used in most places, dirty marks were left all over the walls, paint left on windows, doors etc, the bathroom vanity unit was cut too much leaving visible gaps, the bath panel was sticking out and so much sealant used that it looked awful & over a week later was still tacky, the tile trim was stuck on with glue. I could go on. We were also given invoices for £200 of materials we hadn't used. We have had to take legal advice.

I couldn't have been happier with the team, polite, considerate and tidy. They did an excellent job plumbing and tiling my bathroom.
