Kevin did a good job overall with our extension. The build had many of the challenges that should be expected with an old, idiosyncratic house, plus a few others too. In particular, Kevin's wealth of knowledge and experience with traditional building methods was invaluable. His ability to solve problems and offer intelligent advice on many different aspects of the build was also hugely appreciated. The job took longer than expected but in the end the result has made it worthwhile.

I was very pleased with the work done, the tree roots were not so easy to remove, but Peter did a great job, all the weeds are removed, the grass is mown, my garden has not looked so good for a long time. Very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend!

Chris was quick to respond to my post and attended only a couple of days later to quote. The quote was very reasonable and I chose him for the job, based on his competitive quote, his evidenced standard of work and general personality. Chris has kept true to his word throughout the works needed (new door frames, all skirting boards - porch and living room, new floor in porch and new front door). He has unbelievable pride in his own workmanship and is incredibly trustworthy & reliable. I live in a very old property, that doesn't have a straight wall/floor in it - Chris' knowledge shone through with dealing with what may seem small to those of us untrained - he used all his 'tricks' to ensure everything was fully secure and gap free, everywhere (including his personal pride). I was able to have very honest conversations throughout, regarding the work and also additional costs to the quote (n.b. this was not significantly more, but absolutely reasonable due to additional materials) and his expectations were never unrealistic or beyond my budget, nor the conversations difficult or confrontational. I genuinely can't praise or sing Chris enough. His quality of workmanship, personal pride and outstanding personable style is a breath of fresh air. My final comment would be is that he is to be fully trusted, both professionally & personally and he will deliver you an outstanding job, whilst keeping you informed throughout, in an honest and open style. I'll recommend 100%

The job included taking the house back to brick, new kitchen & bathroom fitted, structural alterations, updated plumbing & electrics and completely redecorated. Wow, wow wow. I do not even know where to begin with this absolute gem we managed to find local to my father in laws project in Southminster, Essex. My in-law is not the easiest guy to work with but John worked so hard to fix all the previous issues a cowboy builder had left him with and he also worked very hard day and night (sometimes 15 hours!!!!) He went above and beyond service. We have never seen such perfect plastering (like glass) and structurally sound work being done by a true professional. He also finished the extension with cladding on the outside and flooring in a huge 80sqm space and to say we are all extremely happy would be an understatement. If you're wondering whether to hire John, please do not! He is worth every penny, he is reasonable and wants to do the job to please you and likes to finish to a very high spec and is always on time and reliable and gives you great ideas to make the house look perfect. Without a doubt the BEST builder we have ever hired and we cannot wait to use John again and again in the future. Thoroughly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to reference any of Johns future work. So delighted with the finished room, Jay had some great ideas and could visualise how it would look, which exceeded my expectations. Jay and Rhys are both highly skilled and very good at what they do, in particular the plastering and finished render looks fantastic. These works have transformed the outside area for me and with the patio laid to a high specification too I can’t wait to start using the garden again. Jay added steps and a low level wall that I hadn’t considered for the path and patio and this was so great to see as I hadn’t anticipated these elements looking so good. Thank you Jay and Rhys, really pleased with how it all came together. (I have also asked for some further works to be done based on my experience so far)
