Bourne Transformations went bust during the project and walked off site, despite my best efforts to keep them going - paying more for labour and for extra materials - for a project which had already gone well above their initial quote - partly due to expansion/changes - but also due to the quote not including vital parts of the project which I had thought would be there. They did not really seem to care, leaving us with an unfinished extension, leaking roof and a huge amount of work and Bourne owing us and other trades a lot of money. Although when they put their mind to it, they can do decent work across trades at a decent speed, the quality of work and pride in work was not what I would expect. Frequent mistakes, not following plans, extremely untidy site with litter and debris everywhere (which our friends and family all told us was a very bad sign) - the list of issues goes on. We all know it has been a hard time to stick to budget and this was a big project, but I don't have sympathy here, Bourne's extremely poor project management and failure to be on site, unreliable team (frequently not turning up or labourers getting sacked) and lack of commitment to the job were the main problem. The job could have been finished to budget if properly executed. On top of all this, all you get is excuse after excuse and broken promises. So, beware of hiring this firm.
