Removal of existing conservatory and erection of single storey extension across the full width of back of the house . Including pitched roof with sky lights, patio doors and window to rear and side. Existing rear doors and walls were also removed. Throughout the build I was regularly consulted on progress, any issues were discussed and alternative products sourced ( roof windows) The work was completed to a very high standard, any delays down to weather issues were always discussed .every week I was aware of the plan of work for the following week. Mr Anderton was very professional and reliable throughout the build.

Barry visited our home on Saturday morning to quote for building a porch. He arrived on time and provided constructive advice on the best design for our property. We really appreciated this dialogue rather than just going with our initial plans. After these talks we now have a clearer idea of what we want / need which will keep the porch in keeping with the current style of the house. We are currently final quote, but initial impressions are very positive.

Fully Fitted Kitchen & Appliances/Removal of Exterior wall - Install Steel/Plaster wall - Ceilings/New floor/Electrics Ian is a professional and has in-depth knowledge of all building aspects which makes it easy to discuss the project end to end including estimates and time lines which are always of the utmost interest to the me. I agreed the price after several other quotes and Ian got to work…. during the build phase we changed our mind a couple of times with ideas that presented themselves and Ian was always accommodating and offered his experience in doing things a certain way in collaboration with our good ideas we had!! Ian started when he said he would and continued with reliable forecasts even when the plans changed. After many months not a single snag has been raised but I know Ian would be back to investigate if it did, Pleasure to leave a positive review and if you would like photo’s of the works, just drop me a message.

Carpentry- 10 Oct 2024
Complete cowboy and to be avoided at all costs. See pics of the disgraceful state he and his colleague Hamish from HK Joinery left what should have been a simple job. Quoted two days labour then did it in one day so earned double their money. Asked him to come back and finish it off properly but his response was to say he’d let me have a quote. A very slippery character, be very careful if dealing with this guy. His work is awful and not to a standard I’m happy to accept.

What to ask a Bury extension builder before hiring?

Before hiring an extension builder in Bury or extension building company in Bury, ask a few key questions to make sure you’re choosing the right professional for your home extension project.

What qualifications and experience do you have as an extension builder in Bury?

An extension builder in Bury should have a strong track record with similar projects and relevant building qualifications or trade memberships, such as the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) or TrustMark.

Will my home extension meet all building regulations and planning requirements?

Your Bury extension builder should ensure the project complies with Building Regulations and, where necessary, handle or assist with planning permissions. Ask how they manage building control inspections and what documentation you’ll receive once the project is complete.

What experience do you have with similar extensions in Bury?

Ask to see examples of their previous work, or view examples of their work on MyBuilder. Ideally projects similar to yours in scale and design. This helps you assess the Bury extension builder’s ability to deliver a result that meets your expectations.

How long will the extension take to complete?

Extension project timelines can vary depending on size, complexity, and weather. A typical single-storey extension might take around 8 - 12 weeks. Request a detailed schedule so you know what to expect and when key milestones will be reached.

Do you offer a guarantee for your work? Most Bury extension builders offer a guarantee or warranty on their work, often between 1 and 10 years depending on the project and materials used. This gives you assurance that any issues will be resolved after completion.
