This chap over promised and under-delivered. We agreed what needed painting and also agreed the price. He then proceeded to paint what I had not asked him to paint, and did not paint what I asked him to paint...!. I had a lot of excuses as to why he could not carryout some of the painting..! . He had informed me he would do it over a Friday, Saturday , Sunday weekend and then turned up half day Friday and then did a few hours on Saturday and then took Sunday off. I would recommend writing down a schedule of works for this chap to follow with a start and end date, which should be signed by him also. I would also get him to confirm that he has not taken on other jobs during the time he is scheduled to carry out the works.
