In general, the Job went well with a couple of scary moments which we were able to overcome. Chris is attentive but like all builders, there are other customers to service which meant there were some slack periods in the installation which went on for 4 days - original estimate 2. The moving of the existing service hatch was resisted as Chris preferred me to install new. I resisted and we moved the old. To enable easy manipulation of the new beam Chris took 20 cm off the length without consultation. I was able to handle the structural engineer. In general, I am delighted with the work as Chris is clearly both competent and experienced and the finished job looks great now that the excellent plasterers I hired post Chris have finished off. I would highly recommend Storm Seal but like all Building Contractors agreeing on a specification and sticking with it is very important. Concerning Finance - Storm Seal came in mid-way in the range of suppliersb

Bob arrived on time as arranged we talked about the job,Bob made gave some good advice on how to proceed with the works we agreed a price which was very competitive and we agreed a start date his men arrived on site as agreed works progressed quickly and efficiently. They sorted out a problem found unexpected steals in existing wall which was to be removed. Nothing was to much trouble for them even down to altering some brickwork above a lintel which my client was not happy with. They carried out the work very tidally efficiently and on time will definitely use them on my next project

Really nice guy who converted our dusty old Victorian cellar into a smart looking room ready to become a utility (when we've painted it and had everything plumbed in) - the first time we've had anything like this done. It's a simple space but with some quirks and his ideas for converting it were excellent.The plasterers, electrician and plumber he brought in were all quick and good to deal with. Overall the job was done quickly and the finish is good. I would hire him again to do similar work. Reasons for neutral rather than positive review are that he sometimes needed to communicate more about what he was doing (e.g. he asked which way we wanted something done and then went ahead and did it the wrong way before we answered); one job wasn't done as we asked and although we agreed to this we subsequently felt fobbed off with the explanation and the deal; and one or two things were left unfinished - small jobs but the details make a difference to the overall finish and leave me with extra things to do. Like I said I would hire him again, but with more experience I would be wiser to these things.
