Matt came to look at the job advertised - build a secret door. While waiting for the quote we gave him another job to sand our fire doors, as we'd had new flooring laid & could no longer close them. We now have fire doors that don't stay shut & a reluctant offer from Matt to get the doors to close BUT at 'additional' cost! If you need a 'competent' carpenter, would suggest you look elsewhere.

We were happy before it rained and we thoroughly checked their work. They left mess, razor sharp edges on the glass, and glass overhanging neighbours land a little bit. We asked them to return to remedy this which they said they would do this coming Tuesday. Since then we have also noticed that they have cut our glass too short, cut the new hardwood at too steep an angle which was bodged in with wood filler, and now it's rained this new roof has massively leaked. In places where the glass is cut too short and even along the length of one of the new wooden beams; must be missing a bit of silicone. It is now Saturday and we have called them 2 days ago on Thursday, yesterday Friday we called and texted, and today again we both texted and one of us called them, to check if they are still coming on Tuesday or not. 3 days is not unreasonable to return a call or text just to confirm either way. More rain is due between now and then, concerned about lack of communication and quality of work.

He is professional, tidy, always on time and no matter the task his work is always completed to an excellent standard. James was great. He clearly cares about his work and his clients. We needed a small job completed at very short notice, and he was extremely helpful in getting everything sorted. There were a few complications along the way, but rather than taking the easy route, he took the time to make sure the job was done properly. He turned up on time, was friendly throughout, provided valuable advice and completed the work to a high standard. We’ll definitely be using James again and would happily recommend him.
