I’ve been in the building trade for over 11 years, starting my career with my family business where I earned my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in site carpentry. During that time, I also worked for a sister company specializing in woodburners—both selling and installing them—while earning my HETAS certification. My family business initially focused on traditional oak framing, and over time we’ve expanded our expertise to include new builds and larger extensions. I’ve been responsible for pitched roofing projects for the past few years, managing everything from timber structure design to the installation of various slating and tiling systems. This role has allowed me to develop a genuine passion for roofing. Broadly experienced across multiple areas of construction, I can confidently handle a wide range of building projects. While I continue working with my family business, I’m now looking to take on extra work and new challenges.

I am a sole trader who has been self employed on the Isle of Skye for 5 years, with 10 years total experience. I have moved down to Glasgow and I’d like to stay self-employed if possible. I was trained by the best team of joiners on the island, Altree Joinery. I have a fully racked out van with every tool necessary for 1st fix and 2nd fix, although I dabble in a bit of furniture making as a hobby/business.
