I have been running my own design practice for the last 15 years and prior to that I worked for small and large architecture and interior design practices for 10+ years on commercial and residential projects. Running my own practice my work is a combination of residential - new build (we built our own house) and extensions - as well as commercial design work such as retail, hospitality and workplace. I am currently working on the planning permission for a new build in Blackheath, London and have recently had planning approval for an extension and loft conversion for a property in Twickenham, London.. On the commercial side most recently I designed the 3d branded environment for hot chocolate brand Knoops and designed and project managed their first 16 stores. I also designed the offices for Housesimple (rebranded as Strike, now merged with Purplebricks), Nirvana plc and KAP HQ, for which I was shortlisted for an AJ Award. I have a large network of designers, architects, structural engineers and planning consultants who I can use where necessary, independently or as part of my team, to be able to see a project from initial concept through to completion.

I created Henson Architectural Design Services back in 2013 in order to create a better work-life balance for my young family. I have built up a strong bond with a couple of local builders whom I work with quite often. The majority of my work load has come from word of mouth; I have very rarely had to advertise for work but having recently moved to a new location - I would like to continue my work in my local area. I mainly work on domestic extensions and alterations but I have carried out some barn conversions and new build domestic dwellings. I enjoy creating the plans for a project that a client requires and like to get the Planning Permissions and Building Regulations approved in a timely manner.
