The job was reducing a chimney stack and capping it. While doing this Phil caused two bricks to fall to the patio below, breaking more tiles as they went. Fortunately not hitting anyone. He then said that the underfeltwas now damaged and had to be replaced and described in great detail how difficult it was, renewing all the battens etc. On this basis I agreed a new expensive contract for this work expecting at least 2 days. In practice he 'completed' the work in under 5 hours. As he left I realised he had used less than 2 meters of the 12 meters of battens he had brought so he could not have done the job he described. The pictures he provided show a shoddy job on the stack and no useful details of the felt replacement. He said he had more pictures but did not provide them. Because of this I first refused to pay the full contract price but eventually did so after repeated phone calls and threatening emails, and as I am 86 I am not in a position to get into any legal procedures.Latest review:Roofing (Pitched)-

5 Star all the way. Tim has done a fantastic job. Completely replaced the flat roof and a total strip back and renovation of the pitched roofs that run onto it, plus complete replacement of two lead gulleys. We are a listed building and so we used reclaimed slates. Tim is 100% reliable and I will have no hesitation in bringing him back here in the future.
