Perhaps he could have reduced his price slightly when he saw the nature of the job. However I appreciate he had to set the time aside and his knowledge of what exactly needed doing.Answer from tradesperson:
My fixed price labour policy has been designed to, wherever possible, avoid conflicts around the amount of time spent on a job which hourly rates can sometimes create. The price you paid was my minor job price, which basically is something I consider I can do in under a hour. My overheads are fixed no matter what job I attend and, just like everyone else, I have a baseline to maintain to continue to trade. There have been many times when I have worked over the hour for people and have still charged what I originally quoted. I appreciate your opinion and note that you are happy with the completed job but I will continue to use my fixed price labour policy and hopefully in the future, it may work for you in reverse to this particular job.
