    Repair stair noses
Work was done on date agreed and at price agreed. It was completed today and we are very satisfied with the result. We decided to have the broken stairs repaired and all stairs tightened. No mess was left, although we think we may have one of your screwdrivers Chris. We found it on our windowsill!

I'm over the moon with Chris and the work he did for me. I had very creaky stairs. A very professional and friendly guy who I can wholeheartedly recommend. Thanks again Chris for a job well done.

    Repair broken step (internal staircase)

Chris was the only person who responded to our work and I’m glad that was the case. He arrived at the stated time and happily waited as we were having a new carpet fitted upstairs. The workmanship was excellent and he didn’t leave any mess behind. Would definitely recommend both on his friendliness and workmanship.

Repair 8 squeeky steps. Laminate 13 steps.

No doubt about it, I agree with all the other feedback stating that Chris is a very friendly and likeable tradesman. He is - but I do have to be honest. I needed 8 squeaky steps repaired and when I spoke to Chris initially, he informed me that he would do a full staircase survey at a cost of £399.00. My staircase was bare. No carpet coverings or anything to take up. Although expensive, I accepted his quote because as well as some plywood, I honestly expected him to be on the job for at least half a day, and that the survey would consist of each step being taken up, and things examined from underneath, followed by the relevant and nuts, bolts and screws tightened. However, Chris took a look and said all the stairs needed was to glue and screw a sheet of plywood against each riser which he did. It took 2 hours. This has definitely stopped the squeaks, but it was a very simple repair in the end, and to me far too expensive baring in mind the time it took and the effort involved. None of my steps or risers were replaced as some other people have had. The following week, I had some other tradesmen in to lay flooring on the staircase. They added more of the same plywood on top of each riser as they needed to "square off" each step. They said they would have charged no more than £150.00. Yes the steps have stopped squeaking, but I do think Chris should think about tapering his prices to take into account the level of work and effort needed for each job.

    Answer from tradesperson:

Hi Every job is unique. Some take a few hours some a whole day. Yhe objective of the job was to eradicate creaks and squeeks which i did. I also made a survey of the whole staircase this i do in every case. The price i give is a set price which was agreed prior to the commencement of any work being carried out and considering it included a 400 mile round trip and an over night stay in a b & b i feel the price was very reasonable I am truly sorry you feel the way you do Many thanks Chris

    Squeaky staircase!
Thank you so much to Chris who did a fantastic job on our 2 flights of stairs. He did everything from above, no mess no fuss, no need to rip off plasterboard - a thought which we were dreading and other stair companies said was unavoidable! Every single stair received a top quality makeover and there isn’t a single squeak or creak. He was easy to communicate with and got the job finished in great time. Would 100% recommend Chris, can’t fault him!
