At the start, William's quote was competitive, he was knowledgeable and friendly. We changed the job a day before starting to knocking down structural walls and creating a downstairs toilet, which he was very accommodating about.
William's team of builders were hardworking and friendly. William would attend every day at some point to project manage the process. He also went out of his way to come with us to the shops to choose a toilet and fireplace we paid his team to install which was appreciated.
However, towards the end of the job William's attitude changed. He started to rush his team to finish the work so they could get to a new job. This meant one day he told his team to leave at lunchtime to go to another site, leaving us with a half finished (not use-able) toilet and uneven concrete floor. Despite this, he demanded the last payment installment (which at the at the contract start he said was due on completion) even though the work was clearly not finished (and he admitted so but said we should trust it would be done!). When we refused he started to get aggressive and very unprofessional. In the end we were content with the work, however we have since had issues with the drainage and it took many repeat visits (with a few no-shows) by a member of his team - who didn't seem to know what he was doing - to repair this.
Overall, William clearly is a nice man with heaps of knowledge, but towards the end and once payment was made, the service and quality suffered.
