New bathroom to be fitted
(Updated on 24 May 2021)Arash was able to start the small bathroom refurb with a couple of weeks of quoting. Him and his apprentice were pleasant and charming. Gave good advice on changing choice of tiles. Relatively tidy.
That’s where the good really stops. One of the pipes for the toilet burst causing water to pour into downstairs. Was given told ‘these thing happen’. Tried to say that it was caused by the boiler until we told him that we saw water spray out of the pipe. He agreed to pay for the damage only after being asked.
Quoted 10 days but took over double that due to coming for half days (I imagine he had another job on at the same time) and on a number of occasions no-showed. Sometimes sent a message in the morning to tell me but on 2-3 occasions it took me to chase him to find out. One day forgot his tools as he had left them at another job.
He didn’t test the shower meaning that the temperature was over 50 C & couldn’t be reduced (could’ve caused harm to my son if I’d not tested (he did fix this). We have been told this was caused by the hot & cold being plumbed wrong. The control knob to switch shower outlet is also plumbed the wrong way round.
After Arash trying to repair the floor twice due to movement and cracking grout & pushing for the remaining payment 40% (60% deposit labour paid). We were advised via a 3rd party it needed ripping out due to being dot dabbed and thin board. Eventually agreed to part pay remaining and get someone else in to fix Arash’s errors.
