Hi, my name is Ashley Tomlin at Tomlin Groundworks Limited. I’ve recently set up my own company in the Hampshire/Berkshire/Surrey area after 7 years of working for my family groundworks business in Leicestershire. Over those 7 years I did multiple residential developments, taking the groundworks from start to finish. Doing such things as the cut and fill, footings, concrete pad and block & beam floors, storm and foul drainage, services and hard landscaping (road construction, driveways and patios). Outside of that we worked closely with Leicester City F.C at their new training ground, constructing a bridleway around the premises, constructing ponds, hosting areas, footpaths and tracks for buggys. I’m taking those experiences and bringing them to Tomlin Groundworks Limited. Competent in operating excavators, dumpers and rollers, working off plans independently and working across a range of groundwork and landscape projects. And more recently, smaller projects in domestic gardens & driveways. Tomlin Groundworks Limited is keen to grow and take on projects of all sizes, producing quality standard work.

We’re delighted with the work Jamie and Charlie have carried out for us. Although only a single story extension, it was complicated work with several steels and unusual roof angles to negotiate. Their workmanship and pride in taking care of the details shone throughout. We decided to stay living in the property whilst the work was carried out and they made sure we had a fully functioning temporary kitchen, with insulated temporary wall shielding us from the elements and keeping us secure. They were fantastic with the kids and we thoroughly enjoyed having them around. I’ve never known trades to be so tidy, making sure our space was totally liveable throughout the project and going above and beyond to try and keep minimal impact to us. We decided to extend the project and asked them to tidy up our garden with a fantastic new double patio, hand made wooden pergola and raised beds, and a new garden fence - all completed to their usual high standard and great advice on what would look good. We’re delighted with how it’s all turned out. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to others and we’ll certainly be using them for any future building projects. We recently hired Ravi for a full home renovation and I have to say we are genuinely pleased with both the process and the final results. The project included removing an old chimney breast, replacing the roof, full plumbing and electrical work, and fitting a new boiler. It was a fairly big job with a lot of moving parts but Ravi managed everything with professionalism and care from start to finish. From the very first visit Ravi came across as approachable, knowledgeable and honest. He took the time to listen to what we wanted, gave straightforward advice, and never pushed for anything unnecessary. Throughout the entire project he kept us updated on progress and was always available to answer questions or explain things in plain terms. That kind of communication makes a huge difference during a renovation. The quality of the work really speaks for itself. Everything from the plastering to the pipework was finished to a high standard and it’s clear that Ravi takes pride in doing things properly. He and his team were also very respectful of our home. They made a real effort to keep things tidy and minimised the disruption as much as possible, which we really appreciated since we were living in the house while the work was going on. The boiler installation in particular was done efficiently and cleanly with all safety measures followed. Ravi also handled the coordination between different trades well so the project kept moving forward without unnecessary delays or confusion. All in all we are very happy with how everything turned out. Ravi is reliable, skilled, and a pleasure to deal with. It is rare to come across builders who combine good communication, attention to detail and solid workmanship but Ravi really delivered on all fronts. There are never any hidden surprises in the end. Sunny listens to his customers and also gives decent advice where needed. Their work is of quality and has a long life. I particularly impressed with how they complete the job in a timely manner. All the materials that have been used are of great quality; and it shows. Andy and Dan did a great job. They took down a damaged 18” brick pier and damaged section of a 9” thick wall, toothing back the original brickwork ready to build. It was rebuilt using matching bricks and finished with ‘Birds beak Pointing’. It is very hard to notice the join! They were extremely courteous, kept the site clean, removed all rubbish and communicated well before, during and after the work.
