Unfortunately, the job I listed could not be carried out due to the materials in the door. The locksmith explained this to me before he had seen my door, so I wondered why he had made the trip. As I was up for the call out fee, I did ask him to take a look at the lock currently in the door because it was extremely difficult to lock. In the end, after trying a replacement lock - which was worse, and playing with the door alignment, he left me with the same problem. So I ended up paying for nothing. The locksmith was very polite and really tried to fix the issue, but clearly it was something that was not straightforward. Am now resigned to using the backdoor and not bothering with the front. David did a great job and was able to realign my patio doors and get the locking mechanism working smoothly again. Other quotes had suggested a full replacement of locking mechanism would be required and I was grateful that this turned out not to be necessary. Very happy! Can't fault Scott's service! He responsed super quickly to my enquiry during the evening and was out for this non-urgent job first thing the next morning. He deftly opened the locks, for a very reasonable and transparent charge, very nice guy. He also explained what we needed to do change the locks if we can't locate the lost keys, rather than spend more on locksmiths.
