John was a delight to start with. He quoted a really good price to fit my kitchen, showed up on time and was a very tidy worker. John and I developed a really good rapport over the first few days of work and it was going well. The work straddled the xmas holidays. He drew up a contract which stated that we would pay 80% of the fee for work done before Christmas and retain 20% until he came back to finish the rest. I was happy to agree to this. The good news stops there. I began to find John very argumentative and unprofessional whenever I was to bring up something he didn’t agree with. For example, he broke one of the legs on our dishwasher, and rather than building something decent to prop it up, his lazy fix was wobbly and unstable. He refused to run our extractor to the exterior wall despite that being part of the original agreement. At no point did I raise my voice, or attack John.When I brought up these issues I did so in a polite way, over the phone. John shouted down the phone at me. It’s the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever experienced. I gave the benefit of the doubt the 1st time.The 2nd time it happened, I told him it was unacceptable, to which he screamed “no more work.” & hung up. This was just before Christmas and we had already paid 80% of the fee. I will never make that mistake again. We’ve since discovered many mistakes in the build. Stay away from this cowboy. Absolutely delighted with my kitchen worktops and sink. The work is totally professional. He was on time and kept in regular contact before the work commenced. He is so pleasant and seems very happy at his work. 5 stars from me. I'm using him again for a bathroom upgrade.
