I'm a qualified electrician having done a 4-year government apprenticeship in Portsmouth Naval Base, although I have spent more years as a telecoms engineer and previously worked for BT plus two private telecoms companies. I installed and maintained business telephone systems. Since retiring I have undertaken some private, domestic maintenance work. I can paint and decorate, plus I can turn my hand to most things including plumbing. I can also carry out tasks like changing elements in cookers and doing repairs on many domestic items.
