Pete from Kirkwood Carpentry came highly recommended and he did not disappoint! He was efficient, courteous, extremely neat and meticulous in his workmanship. He used a painting machine to paint the inside of the property and left a great finish on the walls. He also built our large deck, laid flooring, installed built in cupboards and drawers as well as other bespoke cabinets all which were finished to a very high standard. I will definitely be using his services again and would recommend him to anyone.

Turned up on time and the job was booked in for over a week. Worked for ten mins and left saying his tool was smoking. Didn’t answer my calls or msgs for when he would be back and the job still not done. I sent photos of the job and asked if he wants to look at the job before hand but said it was fine. Turned up in a hatch back for garden waste clearance.

Redesigning garden. Originally had a concrete walkway, down a set of steps to a concrete square patio area with a grassed area that sloped away to the back fence. The whole area was unusable and left dead, unused space around the side of the building too. Through conversations with Alex, we came up with a plan which involved new decking where the concrete walkway was, round into the unused dead space, making a lovely area to sit and have BBQs. Alex then levelled the garden and moved the patio area to the other side, making the whole garden feel bigger. After the work was completed we spent the majority of the summer in our garden and feel it was the best thing we have done. Highly recommend Alex. He listens to what you want, but is also practical on what that means is needed to accomplish the task, highlighting cost implications, as well as practical build issues. It was really easy to work with him to design our dream garden. As a bonus, he is really easy to get one with, reliable and trustworthy. Would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Do not under any circumstances use this electrician, who installed a C02 sensor alarm in my flat against code and contrary to the instructions it came with. It will not work unless the light switch is on, although it is a key safety device, like a smoke alarm. Dan charged for a full day of almost £300 for this and other small jobs, but left the house with the sensor not working. Dan has refused to answer emails and phone calls and to return to correct his work. I believe he must have invalidated his insurance with this conduct and I will be notifying the electrical certification authority. Under no circumstances can he be trusted and MyBuilder should bar him from the site.
