I posted my job on Friday evening, needed a small wall rebuilding. Phil fitted me in very quickly, came out to do the job Sunday, I also had some other bricks that had come loose on another wall, Phil sorted this out for me at No extra cost. Very happy with the work he has done and a very good price, not like some other quotes I have had, who were going to rip me off. He was very polite and professional, left my garden all nice and tidy. We have called upon James on countless occasions and every time, big or small job, he has completed the work in a professional and timely manner. He will fully quote you for a large piece of work and stick to the original costing unless it works out cheaper once completed. Damp Proofing- 21 Apr 2015
I had struggled a bit to know what to do about a sudden damp attack in my kitchen. I was floundering about whether I needed a roofer or someone to look at the brick work or whether it was condensation, or something I hadn't thought of. I clearly had a problem but I didn't want to end up paying for damp treatments that perhaps I didn't need. Ben surveyed the areas I was worried about and was able to confirm that the worst one was most probably down to a leak from roof or guttering. I can now hire a roofer to fix it. He also reassured me that two areas where there had been damp but which seemed ok now were ok for redecoration because their causes had been fixed. He also offered advice on methods of checking that the area had dried out after repair and on prevention for the future. Everything was confirmed in a written report and I certainly believe that this modest outlay for advice was worth it - it was reassuring and will probably save me money in the long-run.

This builder came to view the job and was shown the full extent of the works. He submitted a price per square metere for the stonework and then comlained bitterly about protecting next doors roof. His failure to protect the roof has led to a claim for damages by the neighbour. He promised us that the work would be completed in 3-4 weeks and that he would have 4 to 5 men on the project, the most he managed was 3 for two days, he caused weeks of delay. The final straw was after having the roof timbers installed, this builder demanded a higher price to finish the job, he was told to leave the site and did so immediately. Hire this man at your own risk, I am unable to say a good word about him now.

I regret having to leave such a negative feedback, but Robert gave me no alternative: - Robert did not clarify from the beginning he would still demand full payment, even if he did not fix the problem with the radiators. And this is indeed what happened, he could not fix the problem and he aggresively demanded a £150 payment for half an hour work, trying to make the water circulate with a vacuum cleaner, something I could have done myself (withoug obviously being a plumber). - He then asked for an additional £600 payment (to try something else) that I would have to pay anyway, regardless of whether he fixed the problem or not. Most likely he would not and he would leave my flat full of holes everywhere in the walls (which he did not promise to fix properly either). At this point I was clear that he was just after the money. I wrote a respectful, factual review about all this, he then offered (in his public response) to reinsburse me due to my difssatisfaction. I contacted him several times and offered to withdraw my negative feedback, as a kind gesture, should he honoured his public promise. I never got a response. Even though he said again he would honour his promise, when the website manager kindly got in touch with him, he never did so. He will probably leave another response to all that, which will probably be as questionable as the first one. Fortunately and thanks to mybuilder.com, other people can read about my experience and make a better choice of a plumber.
