We’ve been absolutely thrilled with the work from Oxbow Developments. The team was professional, respectful, and considerate throughout our complex renovation. Kerry’s communication was excellent — he kept us and our neighbours well-informed, explained each step clearly, and managed expectations around disruption. Our six-bed Victorian semi posed plenty of challenges, but the team’s problem-solving and transparency helped us make informed decisions with confidence. The craftsmanship — from beautiful brick and stone work to a stunning bespoke oak gazebo — was exceptional. Despite shared access and limited parking, Oxbow handled the side return extension, knock-throughs, underfloor heating, kitchen install, landscaping, and more with professionalism, care, and good humour. We initially hired Ben due to his positivity and can-do attitude during the quoting process. The quote was also competitive with the other two quotes that we had. Ben set up a contract and payment structure, with no up front fees, and was transparent throughout. Communication with Ben was excellent, who kept in regular contact and made several visits to ensure all small detail was covered prior to the build commencing. The work started during covid times and we were kept fully informed regarding supply issues and how Ben would change the schedules so that work could continue. We also made a major change from a single storey to double storey extension after work commenced which did not appear to be an issue and we were given a new payment structure and timetable drawn up. I was amazed how Ben and his team continued to work even with the issues that Covid had thrown up. The quality of the build was superb. They were very clean, tidy and considerate of the impact the build had on us and our neighbours. Ben and his team were professional and friendly throughout. We are very impressed with the work, the house looks amazing and could not have be happier with the work Ben and his team have done from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble as we constantly tinkered with things as we went along! I could not recommend him enough, definitely one of the good guys!

I cannot recommend J&H Carpentry highly enough. We wanted to replace 11 internal doors (high quality oak) along with a new floor in a very large hallway. Everyone gets that anxious feeling when choosing a tradesman when you don’t know one. The price was extremely fair, the quality of workmanship was exceptional. They are very friendly, professional and cleaned up beautifully after each days work. We now have a list of other things we want done! Thank you for doing such a great job and for being so helpful guys. If you are reading this and are in any doubt, I promise you will not be disappointed. The best 5 stars I have ever given.

Matt diagnosed the source of the problem, removed the faulty section and then re-rendered and texture-finished it. We were unlucky with weather and rain, but Matt kept coming back to do the job well, communicated clearly throughout and was also flexible with my timetable. Matt and his assistant were pleasant, tidy and completed each stage of the process efficiently. A very reasonable price too. We will definitely use his broad range of skills again as jobs arise and do recommend him and his team as reliable, skilled and competitively priced tradesmen.

Jay came to price the job after making contact and his communication was clear. We live in a very old house with lots of quirks; he took this into account and saved us a bit of money with the plastering. Plaster was falling off the ceiling and a couple of walls and he inspected the whole room, telling us we were fine to leave two of the walls as they were, as all seemed solid. I imagine he could have told us to have the whole room done, but instead we only had done what was needed. Jay managed to slot us in quickly, completing the work over two half days (allowing the pre-plaster adhesive coat to dry over night), finishing the job on a Saturday morning as a team of two. The price quoted was what we were charged. It's now been about a month since the work was completed, and we're very happy with the results. The room was skimmed nicely and the surface was very smooth. We coated it with Screwfix bare plaster paint before giving it a top coat, and the finish is great. We'll be using him again for future jobs and I have no problems recommending him.
