I’ve been in the construction industry since I left school in 1987 and completed a 4 year apprenticeship in carpentry at Bryant Homes around Solihull … then went self employed just doing carpentry for about 12 years then started doing my own extensions from start to finish using all the trades men Id worked with regularly and got to know over the years and well over 20 years later they all still contract to me on my extensions, loft and garage conversions etc ..Still my favourite days are completing hand cut timber roofs and fitting kitchens … I’ve never been out of work in all these years and now moved to another area so looking for work more local to me now I’m a neat and tidy worker and I’ve always taken pride in my work, and who can’t stand mess ! For the past 5 years I have been learning my handywork and DIY, renovating our own house which is a Grade II Listed Building. This has included updating all the inside rooms - Bringing back the wooden floors - Removal and renovation of built in wardrobes - Wall renovation - Redecorating all the rooms - Cleaning of beams and lightening them - Renovation of furniture - Grouting of Cotswold stone flooring To name but a few things To the outside of the house I have repaired walls and guttering, and renovated the front gates In the garden I have renovated our two summer houses which were falling down, reroofed and fixed windows and doors to create bespoke spaces. I have also cleaned and repaired all the patios, and built a walled Herb garden. The garden was also severely over grown which has now been brought back to its aged best. I have upgraded some of our beams to be bespoke furniture (tables, stands, wine holders and display cupboards. I can travel within 45 mins from Solihull to work Presentable and polite, I have a hard working philosophy and desire my work to be of the very highest standard Previosuly with Finance experience I wish to use the skills I have learnt and have a more fulfilling career path, and work for myself

Hello my name is Lee I am NVQ level 3 (banker/fixer)mason with 30 yrs experience i have spent the majority of my career working on the restoration of historic buildings for the national trust and English Heritage where i have worked on places such as lichfield cathedral, Blenheim Palace and the tower of London amongst many others. As a banker mason I specialise in limestone and sandstone and am able to work these into fireplaces, window and door surrounds, cornice, arches etc. As a fixer mason being able to lay stone means i am also competent in brick and block work, flooring and paving. As a tradesmen i take great pride in my work and always do it to the best of my ability aiming for the highest standards
