I gave him the opportunity as I was desperate to find someone fast,and didn’t have much success on here.Soon as he accepted,he was already asking for cash beforehand to get materials.I thought you know what,his company details are online,what can go wrong so I did.As his team started the job, they told me I needed to have 2 fences erected as they were badly damaged and deteriorating.I thought heck,why not,might aswell do it now so I gave him again, the opportunity to make some extra business with us.Again,was asked for some pre payment to get the materials,all in cash.All was finished within 2days of the weekend.Fence looked fine,but the roof just looked like a cowboy job.I didn’t complain,as it was done fast,with all the stress with opening a new business,it was one less headache out of the way.After 1 day of rain,the roof was already leaking,like absolutely everywhere.Called him, and he got someone to come by a few days after to fill in more silicone.(Very suspect job again).I thought fine, aslong he’s responding and trying to fix the situation.Fast forward few days later, bearing in mind the shop isn’t open and I’m not always there when it’s raining,it rained again and it was leaking in some areas again.Whatsapped him which is how we normally communicated,called him,read my messages but no reply. Now he has blocked me.Seriously, how he knows I’m opening a business soon this is how he wants to treat his customers. Simply give me back my money or fix the problem, simple!

If you are looking for a caring and conscientious builder then look no further than Stephen. Not only is he on your side for your project and budget, he gets the job done with absolute attention to detail. He works incredibly hard and is not satisfied till you, the client, are happy. He has a photographic, encyclopaedic memory for all things building and structural. He, with his extensive experience, is worth more on your project than any architect plans or drawings. Not only is he damned good at what he does, he’s polite and thorough. He also has a fantastic team that he keeps a close eye on at all times. There are no loud radios or requests for coffee. His team have a fixed break/lunch, bring their own supplies and I’m embarrassed to admit, leave your house tidier and cleaner than when they arrived - even when doing excavation/structural work! I offer only one word of caution, once Stephen and team are in, you won’t want them to leave, and you will start asking him to do all those other building jobs you never knew you wanted done! You will be very fortunate if you can secure him for your project. You can complete confidence in him, his team and their work.

I obtained a few builder quotes for a garage conversion/house renovation and all the quotes were about the same. I decided to give the work to Paul as he came across as someone with genuine experience. His quote was very detailed and offered additional services which the other builders had not included on their quotes such as tiling, bathroom fitting, hanging doors etc. You should probably check everything that has been included item by item so that you don't make any assumptions as this was something I did. I found the team to be very efficient and turned up every morning without out fail. I was able to keep in good communication with the team either face to face, email or on the mobile. Materials were included in the quote and each day Paul would have organised their delivery in advance so lorries would turn up with pallets of bricks, cement, timber etc. I recommended them to a neighbour and she was satisfied too. I definitely would recommend Paul and the team!
